PingPilot

Terms

These are the terms for using PingPilot and pingpilot.run. They’re short, and written to be read. By using PingPilot, you agree to them.

PingPilot is made by Avalore Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (number 17046103), registered office 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. When these pages say “I” or “me”, they mean Avalore Ltd.

Using PingPilot

  • Use it for anything legal.
  • Don’t use it to harm other people, their sites or their systems, or to get around its limits.
  • If you have an account, keep your sign-in safe. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.

Plans and payments

The Free plan is free. No card needed.

Pro ($9 a month) and Pro+ ($29 a month) are subscriptions, paid monthly in advance in US dollars. Any sales tax or VAT is added at checkout.

Payments go through Stripe, which sells the subscription to you as the merchant of record: it takes the payment, handles tax and sends your receipts. Stripe’s own terms apply to the payment itself.

Your subscription renews each month until you cancel. If a price ever changes, I’ll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel any time, from the link in your receipt email or by emailing me. Your plan keeps working until the end of the month you’ve paid for, then moves to Free. Your monitors stay.

Changed your mind? Cancel within 14 days of your first payment and I’ll refund it in full.

After that, part-months aren’t refunded. If something went wrong on my side, email me anyway. I’d rather sort it out than leave you stuck.

Fair use

  • Only watch sites and APIs you own, or have permission to check.
  • Don’t use PingPilot to load-test, flood or attack anything. I may pause monitors that cause problems for someone else.
  • Pro covers up to 25 endpoints and Pro+ up to 150. Need more? Email me.

What monitoring can’t promise

PingPilot checks your sites from the outside, at the interval your plan allows. It can miss a problem between checks, and an alert can arrive late if an email or chat service is slow.

Provider health comes from each provider’s public status page. When PingPilot says whose fault an outage probably is, that’s its best guess from those pages and your checks, not a promise.

Please don’t make PingPilot the only thing protecting something critical.

Your stuff

Anything you create or enter stays yours. You give me permission to store and process it only so PingPilot can do its job.

Availability

I work hard to keep PingPilot working well, but I can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Features may change as it improves. If I ever close it, I’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and refund any time you’ve paid for but not used.

Ending things

You can stop using PingPilot at any time. I can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If I do, I’ll tell you why, unless the law stops me.

Liability

PingPilot is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, I’m not liable for indirect losses, like lost profits or lost data. My total liability to you is limited to what you paid me in the 12 months before the problem.

None of this limits liability that can’t be limited by law, like for death or injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. It doesn’t affect your legal rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

If I change these terms in a way that matters, I’ll update this page and, if you have an account, email you before the change applies.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute. If you’re a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you can use your local courts too.
